What is transfer duty?
It's a form of property tax and is payable to the Receiver of Revenue. It is levied on most property transfer and is paid by the buyer to the buyer to the convevancer handling the transfer who then pays it over to the Receiver. Payment has to be made before transfer takes place.

How long does it take for approval?

The default term on any bond at most South Africa banks are 20 years. Shorter and Longer terms are available. Subject to terms and regulations of the numerous banks.
